The University of Zurich is a member of the League of European Research Universities and one of the leading basic research institutions in Europe. It offers the widest range of study courses in Switzerland. The Faculty of Arts covers approximately 30 institutes and seminars. It offers to its 11'000 students about 40 major subjects and is thereby by far the largest faculty of the University of Zurich.
